Introducing Suzy Dawson-Newbury

We’re thrilled to announce that we have appointed Suzy Dawson-Newbury as Director of Governance, Risk and Compliance, to support our continued growth and development.

Joining from Scottish practice, Johnston Carmichael, Suzy has been recruited to the newly created role following our six acquisitions in 2023, which saw the team swell to more than 300 across our 8 offices in the Midlands, North-West and Yorkshire.

Responsible for ensuring the Group remains compliant through its processes, standards, and procedures, and acting as Money Laundering Officer, Suzy has over 20 years’ experience in financial services, and recently completed her MSc in Law, Governance, Risk and Compliance.

Speaking about her new role, Suzy said “I’m thrilled to join DJH Mitten Clarke at an incredibly exciting time for the Group. The brand-new role allows me to maximise my expertise and knowledge in law, governance, risk and compliance, to contribute to the firm’s growing success in an ever-changing regulatory landscape.”

Scott Heath, Chief Executive Officer, added, “Appointing Suzy comes after three years of extensive development for the Group in the pursuit of our ambitions. The newly created role and department will be integral in driving our strategic growth, enhancing efficiency, and streamlining processes.

Scott continued, “Our people are our biggest asset, and investing in them is the key to success. I’m excited to have Suzy on board and to see her progress within the Group. I know she’ll provide excellent reinforcement and go the extra mile to support our team.”

The news comes after a series of acquisitions in late 2023. Notable additions to the Group include Haines Watts in Altrincham, Revell Ward in Huddersfield, Lyon Griffiths in Nantwich, DTE Business Advisors in Bury, and Minford Dental, a team of specialised dental accountants. Additionally, we recently announced our partnership with Staffordshire based HR firm, Innov8 Human Resources.
