Rewarding staff

It’s time to ignite and excite your employees with rewards that really mean something to them.

How to reward your staff

Rewarding your staff?

Without doubt, having a motivated team has a positive impact on your bottom line. But achieving this through rewards in a balanced and tax-efficient manner, that’s both good for you and your employees, can be challenging.

That’s where we come in. With our years of experience helping employers to create bonus schemes, you can rely on us to put a clear and exciting plan in place.

Rewarding your staff
  • Bonuses and performance-related pay

Bonus payments can be subjective (and worse still, based on emotion) but done well, they can be very effective. We can help you design a bonus scheme which is based on achieving agreed targets or certain KPIs. This could be open to all of your workforce or just your key people if you prefer.

  • EMI schemes and share options

A share option scheme simply means that you have an agreement with your employees for a set period, and at the end they have an option to buy shares in your company.

EMI schemes are the most common these days because they are so tax efficient. If you don’t meet all of the conditions for an EMI scheme, all is not lost. You can look at growth shares and other alternatives which work well too.

    How to reward your staff
  • Employee Ownership Trusts (EOTs)

An EOT is a trust which is set up for the benefit of the employees of a business. Typically, the existing shareholders will sell a controlling interest (at least 51%) to the trust which results in the company becoming employee-owned.

The business is then run for the benefit of all employees, with employees also then having a stake in the future success of the company. This doesn’t just apply to traditional companies, LLPs and those part of a bigger group can also take advantage of an EOT.

    How to reward your staff
  • Salary sacrifice arrangements

With this option your employees give up the right to part of their cash salary in exchange for something else they value more. This is popular way of remunerating employees, particularly when used in conjunction with pension contributions and other perks.
