A new Chief Technical Officer joins our leadership team

We are delighted to welcome Paul Freeman as our new Chief Technical Officer to drive technology innovation for our group, through a comprehensive IT strategy across all our offices in the West Midlands and North West.

Paul takes on the vital role of Chief Technical Officer, following a series of acquisitions which has seen our team grow to 300+ across its five offices in Stoke-on-Trent, Chester, Manchester and Walsall. He joins us at an exciting time and is the fifth senior appointment in recent weeks, joining Integrations Manager Andrew Johnson, Compliance and Quality Director Gavin Ball and Mergers and Acquisitions Director Richard Crook.

Scott Heath, Group Managing Director, said: “We’ve grown as a group and we intend to continue on the same trajectory in 2023. We’ve therefore acted to boost our senior team to ensure our systems and processes are state-of-the-art and all elements are in place for future success.

“Paul comes to DJH Mitten Clarke with a fantastic track record as an IT Director and project manager in the accountancy and legal sector having worked with a number of top 20 firms during his career.

“Following a period of rapid growth, we need to fully align our IT services, systems and processes across our offices. This will enhance the services that we offer our customers and streamline the experience for our team, enabling us to be as efficient and effective as possible.”

It’s been an intense period of growth, beginning when two long-established Staffordshire accountancy firms, Mitten Clarke and DJH came together in early 2021 to set up our headquarters in Stoke-on-Trent. We have since added Morris & Co, Lloyd Piggott, Bakers Chartered Accountants, and specialist dental broker Senovo Health to our Great Things Together Group.

Scott added, “Paul’s appointment is vital as we look to accelerate our growth strategy, he will complement recent senior appointments, and work closely with Andrew Johnson who has responsibility for planning how new DJH Mitten Clarke acquisitions integrate seamlessly with our current team.

“Richard Crook will work to further develop our mergers and acquisitions strategy; ensuring our acquisition targets have a similar ethos to the current group and agreeing offers and heads of terms. Gavin Ball will lead work to ensure an aligned compliance approach across each office.”
