Football Tournament raises much needed funds for the Alice Charity

On the back of the fantastic Euro 2022 win, and with the World Cup on the horizon, the football gap was filled, not by the return of club football but by our charity 5-a-side tournament!

With a fantastic turnout of 22 teams, it was great to see so many local companies come together and take part, all for such a great cause as we were supporting the Alice Charity, a local charity that provides much-needed support in our community. With the rising cost of living, disadvantaged and vulnerable families need this support more now than ever

Whilst the Euro 2022 win took place during a record-breaking hot summer and the World Cup takes place in Qatar, it was in the slightly less sunny climes of Stoke-on-Trent in September but even the rain didn’t stop us, and what a day it was…

A total of 22 teams took part in this year’s event.

The day kicked off at 1pm, and it’s safe to say everyone had their game faces on, and were in it to win it to take home the trophy!

In the end, it was Network Plus who took the glory and were our Cup Winners for 2022!

But what about our own teams? Unfortunately, it was a mixed result as one couldn’t quite make it out of the groups, with our Stoke and Walsall offices feeling the heartbreak of a Semi-Final exit (one even on penalties). However, our Manchester office claimed the bragging rights for this year, taking home the Plate, which was the Europa League, to the cups Champions League.

The day finished with plenty of post-match analysis and an awards ceremony.

DJH Mitten Clarke Manchester – 2022 Plate Winners

We can’t forget to mention the Cross Bar Challenge winner Ben Clarke, who made it a double for the Manchester office, hitting the crossbar 5 times in just one minute. Impressive right?

We are pleased to announce the day raised an impressive £2,000 in total, which we hope will make a huge difference in supporting many families in need.

Steph Bradbury, Fundraising Manager at Alice Charity attended the event and said ‘’ We were delighted to be chosen as the beneficiary charity for the DJH Mitten Clarke Football tournament. We have been supported by them on a number of occasions in the past and love working with them. They are very supportive of the local community.

The day itself was a huge success and it was lovely to meet all the teams and players.

We are enormously grateful to everyone that took part, all the donors and most importantly the staff from DJH Mitten Clarke who put on a great event and organised a fabulous day. The money raised will make a real impact on local families who are struggling.’’

A huge thank you to, Knights PLC, Woolcool, Sandycroft Construction, Beswicks Legal, Cumming Group, Nemesis Now, Morris & Co Chartered Accountants, Morris & Co Specialist Dental Accountants, Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce, Parogon Group, Staffordshire Precision Engineering, Bee Active, KMF Group, Begbies Traynor Group, A Lench Builders and Network Plus, and of course our DJH Mitten Clarke Stoke, Manchester and Walsall teams who all took part.

We’re already looking forward to our tournament next year, we hope to see you there!
