Rachel Watkinson

After qualifying as a Solicitor, I started my training contract with a local law firm, and in my fifteen years at the company, I progressed my career and became a Partner in their private client team, and then latterly Training Partner, to support trainees within the firm.

I then moved companies in 2021 and became Partner in the Private Wealth Team for another law firm, before joining DJH as Head of Estate Planning in 2023.

• What makes DJH great is...

  The people! It has been pretty daunting setting up a new service line from scratch, but everyone’s willingness to help and chip in amidst the inevitable teething problems has been incredible and the same team ethic undoubtedly applies to the way in which they approach client service too. There are no “that’s not my job/problem” attitudes.

• My most trusted piece of advice in business is...

  A quote from Walt Disney has always stuck in my mind -“The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing”.

• On a Saturday morning you'll usually find me...

  Either baking or doing a spot of gardening- both are weather dependent and always involve my 2 pugs, Keith and Barry, being in close proximity to the action!
