Melanie Bailey - DJH

Melanie Bailey

Audit Services Director (Education Specialist), Altrincham

I started my audit career as an AAT Trainee in Nottingham in 2010 and became involved with my first academy audit in 2011. I complete external audits on large multi-academy trusts every year and have grown both mine and my team’s knowledge and skills in completing financial tasks required for academy trusts.

I manage the delivery of all academy services to our clients in the education sector which includes private schools, academy trusts and post-19 institutions. I love to get hands-on in providing advice and resolving problems with all our clients.

  • What makes DJH great is…

We have a large team of dedicated specialist academy auditors who are committed to helping our academy clients in meeting all the required deadlines. We have many years of experience of supporting academy trusts through all sorts of circumstances like conversions, mergers, being brokered out, closure and financial notices to improve, which helps to make us reliable and friendly advisors.

  • My most trusted piece of advice in business is…

Benjamin Franklin was spot-on when he said, “By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail.” Time-management is a true skill, and having a well-thought-out plan is a key factor to succeeding!

  • On a Saturday morning you’ll usually find me…

Having a lie-in! I take my kids on the school run every morning, so Saturday mornings are my lie-in mornings, but only until around 9:30am… after which it’s time to get the kids out of the house and go somewhere like Dunham Massey for a walk, or Blackpool for a stroll down the prom and a play on the 2p machines or go for a bike ride!
