Matt Verling
Tax Manager, Nantwich
Fresh out of university with a BA (hon) Business Studies degree, I was keen to get into the world of finance. In November 2003, I joined as an Assistant to one of the Partners. After a year out travelling Australia in 2005, I returned to the firm but this time in the Tax team. I started as a trainee and earned my stripes – I qualified as ATT and then CTA, and have since progressed from a Tax Senior to Tax Manager where I am today.
My role now sees me providing a wide range of Tax advice, from simple Tax returns to property tax advice, owner managed business tax advice and Inheritance Tax, Trust, and Estate planning, which also includes our dedicated probate and estate administration service.

What makes DJH great is…
The atmosphere is very staff centric – we always make sure everyone is made to feel very much part of the team. From a tax point of view, being able to advise on a wider variety of taxes allows us to provide much more effective and comprehensive tax planning opportunities for our clients.

My most trusted piece of business advice is…
Find people you can trust! Whether that be suppliers, employees, or advisers, you need to know you can rely on the people around you to run and grow your business effectively.

On a Saturday morning, you’ll usually find me…
Either hitting the gym or going for a run first thing. This is usually followed by a home cooked hearty breakfast to fuel my two daughters for their Saturday morning ballet and gymnastic activities.
