Jon Else
Partner, Corporate Finance
I joined the business back in January 2023, moving from a legal services business where I was a director and shareholder. Before this, I was a Corporate Finance Partner at a firm in Liverpool where I specialised in acquisitions, fundraising and business sale transactions. I trained in International Tax and as fascinating as it was, I wanted to work with owner-managed businesses rather than PLCs.
I decided that it was time for a change and returned to a role in Corporate Finance where I can use my experience for the benefit of my clients.
I have significant experience in the professional services sector, recently selling an architect and project management business to a multinational trade buyer, as well as working on an MBO of a law firm. Alongside this, the team work with a range of sectors. Earlier this year we advised a Private Equity fund on the purchase of a consumer goods wholesaler by one of their portfolio companies and we sold a fire protection business to a PE-backed trade purchaser.
Our role is to stand side by side with our clients and guide them through every aspect of a transaction, from initial meeting to completion. The role varies whether we are buying or selling but ultimately our role as a trusted advisor is to deliver the best possible result for our client.
Having run a business for 11 years and a client of various accountancy firms and law firms, I know the challenges faced by my clients every day, the sleepless nights and the highs and lows associated with running a business!

What makes DJH great is
We have a fantastic Corporate Finance team and we are really enjoying being part of the DJH group. I am excited at the opportunities that should be created by the team working together to achieve the aims and ambitions of our clients (and our own).

My most trusted piece of advice in business is
Listen to people and value the guidance of those that you trust but there will be a time when you need to back your own judgement and own the outcome. Be brave.
