Chris Rawlinson
Head of Learning & Development
I joined the business in 2021 as our very first Learning & Development Co-ordinator. As a former AAT apprentice myself, I qualified for the MAAT in 2007 before opting to work for NSCG in 2008 as an NVQ Assessor/Lecturer, delivering and formally assessing the AAT qualification. Through that role, I was in regular contact with hundreds of AAT apprentices throughout Staffordshire, all of whom studied at the college and worked for local employers, including DJH.
During my 13-year tenure at NSCG, I obtained formal qualifications as an NVQ Assessor and Internal Quality Assurer, while also completing the CMI Diploma (Chartered Management Institute) in First Line Management.
Now, as Head of Learning & Development, my team and I support students throughout their entire journey—from Early Careers onboarding through to full qualification. Having experienced every perspective in this field—apprentice, training provider, and employer—I bring a comprehensive understanding to leading our team. This unique insight ensures our students succeed, which in turn strengthens and grows our business.

What makes DJH great is…
The opportunities available to everyone. No matter the role, if you have the desire and ambition to succeed, we are awarded the opportunity and accountability to do just that – becoming the best that we can be.
Passion in your role is key, and DJH reward this by trusting in the team, which has led to great success and helped build a number of high performing teams.

My most trusted piece of advice in business is…
It is to be your authentic self. No matter the industry, we are all in the people business. Be the person that everyone wants to work with.
If given the opportunity to network, perhaps step outside your comfort zone, grab it with both hands – have a go.

On a Saturday morning, you’ll usually find me…
With my wife and daughter, enjoying a bacon & eggs breakfast, and catching up on the week’s WWE action, as well as looking ahead to the weekend’s football fixtures, specifically Manchester United and Port Vale.
