Cathryn Ruddock - Estate Planner

Cathryn Ruddock

Estate Planner

Each client has their own individual set of needs and wishes and my role is to understand what they are and provide them with a tailored set of potential solutions, advice and assistance to achieve them.

I have a broad range of experience after qualifying as a Chartered accountant with KPMG then moving to a local accountancy practice where I qualified as a Chartered tax adviser. In recent years, I have been working in the field of general accountancy and taxation but now focus on personal taxation. After becoming qualified as a Probate practitioner over five years ago, I have moved into the more specialised area of estate planning and probate work. I have a diverse range of experience, but my driving force has always been to want to help clients and provide them with a personal and approachable service, and this is mirrored at DJH.

  • What makes DJH great is...

The people!  Everyone is so supportive and positive with each other, and this is reflected in their attitude towards client-care.  At DJH a client will have their own in-house team around them of legal, taxation and wealth specialists all focused on providing them with a personal and bespoke service to meet their individual needs.

  • My most trusted piece of advice in business is...

In the words of Stephen Covey : “Seek first to understand.  Then to be understood.”  Client care is about good communication both verbally and practically – listening to your client and making sure you communicate effectively with them.

  • On a Saturday morning you'll usually find me...

In the garden or on a walk then catching up with family and friends over brunch and a coffee or two.
