DJH Mitten Clarke tackle this year’s Potters ‘Arf

We are tackling this year’s Potters ‘Arf Marathon in aid of the Dougie Mac.

A total of nineteen members of the team have signed up for the race, with our Stoke-on-Trent HQ team taking part again, and those from our Chester office taking part for the first time.

Each year, we tie the run-in with a fundraising effort for a local charity. Our efforts last year helped to raise £1,500 for Ashton Hulme’s Leg for Life campaign.  For 2022, all the proceeds raised will go to the much-loved local hospice, The Dougie Mac.

The Dougie Mac provides free hospice care to people with life-limiting illnesses across Stoke-on-Trent and North Staffordshire. In 2021, they extended this service by combining with The Donna Louise Hospice which supports children with life-limiting conditions.

James Beardmore, Operations Director, who will be one of the team running this year said “We’re really looking forward to this year’s Potters ‘Arf. It’s always a brilliant event with fantastic support throughout the course and a great way to bring the team together

“For the first time, we have a number of runners from our Chester office. We’ve tried to explain Heartbreak Hill to them but we’re not sure we’ve done it justice!”

“Most importantly it helps us give something back to a charity which does fantastic work in the local area”.

The Potters ‘Arf is iconic in local running calendars, providing a real test for seasoned runners, a wonderful atmosphere for those running their first race and a brilliant way to fundraise for charity.

Running the half marathon this year will be members from across DJH Mitten Clarke, Wealth Experts and Moco Chartered Accountants and include; Cam Muir, Grant Mantle, Ian Parsonage, Jack Farmer, James Beardmore, James Lindop, James Miller, Josh Bennett and Riaan Pretorius, whilst our relay teams will feature; Cathy Han, Chris Rawlinson, Drew Talbot, Jack O’Grady, Jake Llewellyn, Kelsey Neisham, Lucy Moult, Rebecca Tideswell, Ryan Corden and Ryan Smith.

Jack Farmer, Financial Planner, said “It’s my first half-marathon and I’m excited to be taking part with so many of the team. I’ve heard that a few colleagues who are spectating, are already planning where they are standing to cheer us on. I did the relay last year and seeing a friendly face really does spur you on”.

The fundraising will continue DJH Mitten Clarke’s community efforts over the last year which have also seen them support the Gingerbread Centre, Alice Charity, and Coppa Feel, plus a grand total of £9,500 raised for the British Red Cross’ DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.
