Assisting our local Basketball stars

The aim of our ‘Great Ideas Grant’ is to support as many people in our community as possible, and we encourage our team to pass on any causes they think we should support. Recently our Trainee Auditor, Adam Barnett, came to us with a ‘slam dunk’ of an idea…

The Northwood Valiants Basketball Club, based in Hanley, was set up in 2004 with the incentive to provide a safe space and outlet for teenagers in our local area. Since then they have grown from strength to strength now, providing fun, game based sessions for children as young as 6, development sessions for teens and competitive matches for adults.

These guys scored a three pointer with us as they have a strong sense of our core values passion, teamwork and community – so we knew we had to get involved!

Adam (auditor by day, basketballer by night), said “I’ve been a part of the Valiants for a few years now and have loved every second of it, the support they offer to our community is amazing.”

“I was so thrilled to hear that the team were going to be sponsoring us through the great ideas grant – it will be able to go towards some new hoops and basketballs, which are essential to the club and the game!”

The Valiants currently have two teams in the West Midlands League, and we can’t wait to see them achieve great things next season!
